About Daily Bell Ringers

Daily Bell Ringers posts a fresh set of warm-up prompts for grades 6–12 every school day, free and with no sign-up. Each day has one page for grades 6–8 and one for grades 9–12, covering ELA, math, science, social studies, and current events.

Who Runs It

The site is run by Clay Shumate, a certified grades 6–12 social studies teacher and the founder of Elevate the Norm, a site about positive classroom management.

How the Prompts Are Made

Prompts are drafted with AI assistance. Every historical date and current-events detail is checked against a published source, which is linked on the page, and every math answer is worked out and checked before it goes live. Current-events prompts are written to have students reason about what happened, not to take a political side.
